Deep Dive Feasibility Analysis
Partnering with Urban Equations, Biomimicry Frontiers worked to increase resiliency and reduce long-term costs of a development project in Ontario, Canada. We completed a deep dive feasibility analysis of three specific nature-based considerations: increase access to nature, increase ecosystem interconnectedness and therefore, ecosystem effectiveness, and implement bio-inspired technologies to inspire a new perspective of nature-based design. By taking a nature-first approach to design, we were able to provide insights into how the x hectare development could use nature as a model to address the impacts of climate change, enhance physical and mental health, and leverage ecosystem services, all while reducing costs over the long-term.
